The Teignbridge Samba course is now open to join!
Earlier in the year I applied for some funding from Teignbridge Council who are funding the Teignbridge Arts Project grant scheme and I was successful in my proposal to set up a Teignbridge based community samba band! This is such a great opportunity to bring people together, promote personal and social wellbeing as well as a foster a sense of community pride. It's going to be so much fun!
This is a 10 week course and is FREE to attend! The course is split into two halves, 5 weeks before Christmas and 5 weeks after with the final session being a small performance to celebrate our achievements.
The dates are as follows:
5 weeks from Thursday 14th Nov, 18:30 - 20:30
5 weeks from 9th Jan, 18:30 - 20:30
Venue: St Joseph's Church, Newton Abbot.

Come and explore a world of rhythm! These lively workshops are full of fun and open to all.
We meet every Monday evening every half term for 6 weeks. Within each block we'll explore one new piece and revist and embellish our classic rhythms.
Come and join this fantastic course of 6 workshops at our new Teignmouth Venue! We'll now be meeting every Tuesday at the Raise the Barr Fitness studio. These sessions are open to all abilities from more experienced to complete beginners.
for 6 weeks, starting on the 5th November, we'll focus on two sets of rhythms as well as revisit some past classics. We'll introduce technique and develop more complex patterns as you become more confident. Be prepared for BIG Beats, BIG Breaks and BIG smiles!
Drum Devon provides drumming workshops in a whole variety of settings in including those to support the promotion of personal and social wellbeing. For 3 years Drum Devon worked in partnership with the Devon Recovery Learning Community in order promote positive wellbeing through drumming.

These sessions run as uniqiue taster sessions whereby you will get to explore a specific rhythm and learn how different drum and percussion parts fit together to create a multilayered rhythmic montage. They're an ideal way to find out what it is all about. You'll also get access to a whole range of resources such as videos, notation as well as a recording of your workshop!
This series introduces participants to the wonderfully diverse world of drumming from all around the world.
Each session we will explore a different rhythm. Starting from scratch makes these sessions extremely accessible to all. See all the sessions below.
