The session is hosted by James Carr who has over 25 years experience playing drums and percussion as well as more than 20 years teaching experience. In the session you will learn to play authentic West African djembe patterns, develop technique and together we will create an almighty sound. The sessions are aimed at adults and are open to all whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced player. 6th Jan - Paignton Sessions (6 week Course)
Where it all started, this group is the first Drum Devon course and has now been running for more than 5 years. We're a friendly and welcoming bunch. Whether you are an experienced player or completely new to djembe playing, this 6 week course is for you. Each half term we learn a new set of rhythms as well as revisit some of our 'classics'. Learn authentic West African djembe rhythms as well as take the occasional detour to different parts of the world.

8th Jan - Drumming Sessions at Activities 115, Kingsbridge
I am delighted to be returning to Activities 115 in Kingsbride to run these sessions for adults with learning disabilities.
Throughout the sessions we will be learning world rhythms and exploring a variety of different drums and techniques.
The sessions include rhythm games and are lots of fun and accessible to everyone - you don't need to have ever drummed before to join in.
Drumming is brilliant for helping to improve coordination and memory, learning new skills, improving wellbeing, boosting confidence, exploring creativity and having lots of fun in a relaxed envionment.

11th Jan - Brixham Library - West African Drumming Workshop
Back by popular demand, I will be returning to Brixham library this January. Beat away the winter blues and uplift your soul with some stonking West African rhythms. All welcome and no experience necessary! This is a family friendly workshop and everyone is invited. We will play a mixture of djembe hand drums, dun dun bass drums and a whole array of percussion to create an explosion of rhythmic energy. Booking is essential.
